Counselling helped me deal with my emotions. I would sometimes feel very angry towards my parents or even my friends. I felt nobody understood me and I'd do things just to provoke a reaction which would get me into more trouble. I was recommended to attend counselling and although at first I didn’t think it would help, I can say it is one of the best things I’ve done.
I can now recognise when certain things trigger me. I can help myself by avoiding the situation, dealing with it assertively or by purposely chilling out. As I gained more self-control I began to feel a lot calmer and see things in a different way.
